Hello, friend.

For almost two decades, my work as an artist has involved creating elaborate public ceremonies and ceremonial sculptures in collaboration with communities around the world. During the isolation of the pandemic, I developed a deep appreciation for our quiet personal ceremonies and everyday home rituals—as well as the objects that give them significance. Beloved objects made me feel a stronger connection to beloved humans, and to a deeper part of myself. These realizations are the sparks of Santito.

Santito celebrates the significance of our home rituals and ceremonies with playful and functional handmade ceramic pieces that not only serve as lovely, limited edition works of art, but also integrate into the events of our daily lives. Whether you’re washing berries, serving snacks, or raising a glass to a friend on Zoom, Santito offers pieces imbued with the spirit of gratitude and joyful connection, inviting you to infuse your everyday moments with a sense of ceremony and appreciation.

Sending love,

George Ferrandi

Meet our friend, Nick Troisi.

Nick is an excellent potter and brilliant MacGyver-type character. He makes all the beautifully rounded, wheel-thrown works for Santito so George can paint them up. He also welcomed George to the world of clay a few years back with his expertise, his slab roller and his kiln, so if anyone is to blame for Santito, it’s Nick!

At Santito, we believe in the power of meaningful objects and everyday rituals to keep us connected to each other and to a deeper part of ourselves.

Slipcast Editions

George designs and sculpts an original form out of clay, makes a plaster mold of it, then casts a very small edition of these objects in porcelain. They’re painted with underglazes or oxides, fired with a clear or satin glaze and sometimes flashed out a bit with 22kt gold luster details.

Hand-built vessels

George builds these bottle vases and trays from rolled out slabs of porcelain or stoneware clay, then paints them with colorful underglazes and fires them with a clear or satin finish. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and signed.

Cheering Cup Collaborations

with Nick Troisi

Nick throws these elegantly playful, porcelain cups on the wheel and smooths the surface so they feel just lovely in your hands. Then George paints them with underglazes in themed, small batches, and applies a clear glaze to the outside of the cup and a pop of colored glaze to the interior. Each is unique.
